Have you ever felt so compelled to write something that you could not rest? If so, read on.
An intriguing plot, a fascinating character, or an appealing setting normally precede the writing of a novel. Only on rare occasions does a full-blown plot, fraught with possibilities, come to mind. One that clamors to be written until we cannot ignore its demands.
Such was the case with Cascade Masquerade.
We live in a world of fallen heroes. Too many respected public figures, even ministers, do not maintain personal integrity. Ten years and dozens of books ago, this lack of role models haunted me.
Only those firmly grounded in Jesus can withstand persecution. This truth compelled me to write an in-depth novel, based on Christians who cannot understand why God doesn’t always save them from evil.
Cascade Masquerade poured out. Countless revisions followed. Cutting more than 17,000 words strengthened the story. I write what God inspires, then wait for Him to see that it reaches those who most need it.
Cascade Masquerade took ten years.
I awakened on Good Friday, knowing this special book’s time had come. Interspersed with humor and small-town way of life, it is a powerful story of what happens when people “tell the truth and shame the devil.” My prayer is that the Spirit Who directed its writing may touch your lives, as it has mine.
Aspen Grove, Washington, in the heart of the Cascade Mountains
A Mitford-like village with a dark twist.
Minister’s daughter Anne Carroll is thirty, single, and content serving her community through her Christian bookstore, His Way. Can she continue to walk in a “circle of truth,” when doing so may destroy her beloved father?
Former minister, Paul Hamilton wears the face of an angel but plans to pay God back for not intervening when false accusations shattered his life.
Aspen Grove is under attack after following a terrible storm after a gorgeous September day. Will the idyllic village ever again be the innocent, peaceful place that 700 residents loved and cherished? A powerful story of good versus evil.

Looks interesting, Colleen.
Very different from my usual novels. Far more depth.
I will look forward to reading it.
